On a pretty Sunday morning, you can expect to find friends and neighbors - and visitors to our community - gathering at the Resort dock a few minutes before 9 o'clock. If you get there early to watch us set up, you'll begin to see boats and jet skis and party barges making their way to tie up alongside the dock and each other.
A Greeter will be there to give you a hand getting settled in. They'll help you tie off... or get you seated... get you a program that will guide you through the day's worship and song... and will ask you to sign in our register. (It helps us learn who you are). Our service follows a standard format. We begin with singing. We hear readings from the Old Testament or New Testament, and always a reading from one of the Gospels. Our pastor, Ann Maroney will have a short message. We join together in prayers for ourselves, our neighbors, our country and the world God loves. We sing some more, and we end with a prayer of thanksgiving... remembering God's blessing... and reminding each other of God's peace. Then we gather on shore for juice (and maybe a bite to sweeten our spirits.) That's normally about 9:45. If it rains, we meet in the roofed gazebo right on shore. Most of our Sundays, the music is led by guitarists, but it's not unexpected to find a palm drum or trumpet... a keyboard... Geese often honk along. And we try to bring in special music. This year, plans are in the works to bring in at least two youth singing teams, a trio from the Leesburg/Dawson area, and a great worship leader from the Alleluia Community in Augusta, Georgia.
