Worship on the Water will begin it's 9th year on May 27 with the Blessing of the Boats.  This year we are blessed to have the Reverend Kedron Nicholson for three Sundays a month.  Rev. Nicholson will Bless the Boats on the 27th and bring Eucharist for three Sundays in June.July and August.  The music on the 27th will be provided by Joyful Noise, a group from Dawson that traditionally opens our Summer Season.  Please join us for prayer, praise and worship.  Bring your kids, dogs, boats, skidoos, coffee and friends - casual dress is expected.

Worship on the Water is a seasonal ministry of Christ Episcopal Church, Cordele, Georgia. We worship at The Resort Dock on Lake Blackshear from Memorial Day Sunday through Labor Day Sunday at 9 a.m. Our service on Memorial Day includes the Blessing of the Boats conducted by clergy of Christ Church.

On pretty days, we gather, by boat, by jet ski, by foot and by car to worship alongside the dock of the Resort. When rain requires, we gather under the screened gazebo adjacent to the shore.

We come from as close as the campground and Resort, and from as far away as England. Our register is starting to look like an atlas.

The worship is informal, and dogs belong; Canada geese often accompany our music and singing and one year we had a baby alligator who didn't stay long. Boat attire is expected, and whether you come by land or water, there's a place for you.

 We have been truly blessed with dedicated musicians, committed clergy and a staff that works hard without ever complaining.
